Learning Empty
PostSubject: Learning   Learning EmptySat Aug 21, 2010 3:52 pm

So lately I've noticed that I haven't really been progressing at all at learning how to play the piano or the guitar. I have a book to teach me to play guitar, but as for piano, I'm pretty much doing it by ear. I found out the other day that I had Dearly Beloved completely messed up because I wasn't using the right notes or anything. It had a similar melody and everything, but I wasn't using the right notes, which kinda put me in a set back. I mean, I have learned a few new songs that are very very basic, such as: My country Tis of Thee, Happy Birthday, and I finally got most of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer down. However, I don't think I'm really getting anywhere, and from what I've seen, I don't have the "proper" equipment to play chords on a lot of songs because my keyboard has such a limited range of keys on it. The fact that it's so old and sounds like shit doesn't exactly help either. As for guitar, I've found that I can't switch chords for the life of me, especially G to D.
Just wanted to rant about that for a bit. Hurr

I can help you with the piano thing, if you like. We still have all our old books and stuff. As for the guitar, well, if you ever get the hang of it you can help me!

My dad and sister do, they took lessons for a while. Neither got very good ;) I could teach you to read music, we still have the books from when we FIRST started piano.
